RGD’S United States Outreach Heads to Miami Next Week

The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) United States outreach heads to South Florida next week, to conduct on-site processing of applications for birth, death and marriage certificates for members of the Jamaican community.
Staff of the RGD will facilitate Jamaicans at three locations from Monday (Nov. 19) to Tuesday (Nov.20) between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On Monday, the team will be at the Jamaican Consulate downtown Miami from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then head to the Pentecostal Tabernacle at 18415 NW 7th Avenue, where the outreach services will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The RGD returns to the Consulate on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, and then journey to Broward County for a session at the City of Lauderhill Police Department located at 6279 Oakland Park Boulevard, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Chief Executive Officer of the RGD, Dr. Patricia Holness, is encouraging nationals to utilize the services offered by the agency at the various locations. She said that the outreach is particularly important for members of the Diaspora, who are unable to apply for documents through the agency’s online service.
While overseas, the team will also assist persons in conducting genealogical research, and general record updating activities.
The RDG team will move on to Atlanta and New York, where similar sessions will be held.
