Reduced Postal Rates for Sending Christmas Cards

Customers sending Christmas cards to their friends and family members, both here and abroad, will benefit from special reduced postal rates between November 1 and December 24.
Cards in unsealed envelopes of varying weights will be delivered at a cost of $10.00 below the regular rates to different destinations.
Local rates for the first 230 grams will cost $20.00 instead of the $30.00 charged for regular mail. For the first 15 grams or part thereof, airmail rates for Christmas cards to the Caribbean, Canada, the United States of America (USA) and Central and South America will cost $50.00 as against $60.00 for regular postage. For the United Kingdom (UK) and the rest of Europe, the cost is $60.00, while regular mail would remain at $70.00. Cards bound for Asia, Africa and the Far East will attract a rate of $80.00 as opposed to the $90.00 that is charged for regular postage.
Public Relations and Marketing Manager at the Postal Corporation (Postcorp), Gordon Brown told JIS News that despite the growth of the Internet and the use of this medium to send greetings to friends and loved ones, the post office was still being used by many Jamaicans to send yuletide greetings to various parts of the world.
He pointed out that other initiatives for the Christmas season would include the start-up of Express Mail Service (EMS) to the USA, Canada, the UK and select locations in the Caribbean, and advertising mail service for flyers, brochures and catalogues would be made available in time for marketers to benefit from during the upcoming yuletide season.
