A 2018 ‘Advancing Disaster Risk Finance in Jamaica’ World Bank Report suggests that, on average, losses from natural disasters would cost Jamaica about 16 billion dollars annually. Of this amount, it is estimated that 9 billion would be required to address hurricane damage to public and private buildings alone.
