The Jamaica Council for persons with Disabilities, JCPD, is the agency responsible for providing guidance to the government in the development of policies and programmes for persons with disabilities. The JCPD is an agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and is in its 40th year of existence, having become operational in 1973. To date, just about 12,000 persons are registered with JCPD.
