NEPA # 9 – A Protected Area is an area of land and/or water dedicated to the long-term protection and maintenance of biological diversity, and of natural and associated cultural resources.Over 200 protected areas exist in Jamaica. These include forest reserves, special fishery conservation areas and protected national heritage sites and monuments.
