The 800 students at Penwood High School in St. Andrew, are now benefitting from a recent infrastructure upgrade with the School now boasting a new state-of the-art information and communications technology (ICT) Centre. The centre was established with support from the Overseas Examinations Commission, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, and other stakeholders. Students of Richmond Park Primary School in North Central Clarendon will soon be able to travel in comfort to and from school. This as the Japanese Government has provided the school with grant funding towards the purchase of a 29-seater Coaster bus. The financial assistance is being provided under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Project. Norman Manley High School, named in honour of the island’s first and only Premier and National Hero, the Right Excellent Norman Washington Manley, is celebrating its golden jubilee. A yearlong series of activities in recognition of the milestone was launched in September at the institution’s location in Maxfield Avenue, Kingston with the release of 50 balloons featuring the school’s colours – blue and green.
