Being a woman and getting older; two of biggest risk factors for getting breast cancer. Here in Jamaica, breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women. Globally, 1 in every 8 women is expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. For men, it’s 1 in 1,333. It’s for this reason there have been calls for persons, especially women, to take the necessary precautions to protect against breast cancer or catch it in early stages as early detection is key to having the best chance of survival.
