Chronic Kidney Disease is a progressive loss of Kidney function over time. It means the Kidneys are damaged, affecting their ability to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood. Chronic kidney disease can progress to end-stage kidney failure, which is fatal without artificial filtering, otherwise known as dialysis, or a kidney transplant.
