President Zuma intends to be here for Independence

The President of the Republic of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, has conveyed to Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller that he intends to be in Jamaica for the Independence Day celebrations. President Zuma who was expected in the island this morning for a 2 day State Visit has had to delay his arrival due to the threat of Tropical Storm Ernesto, currently affecting the island.
An advanced South African team headed by a Vice Minister is already in the island and will be participating in some of the activities planned for today.
