Traffic Safety Expo launch

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Mining, Dr. Alwin Hales (left), in conversation with Executive Director of the National Road Safety Council (NRSC), Mrs. Paula Fletcher (second left), at the official launch of the Grennell’s Driving School 8th Jamaica Driver and Traffic Safety Expo 2016, at the Ministry’s offices, on May 11. The Expo will be hosted on June 4 and will focus on motor vehicle crash prevention by providing defensive driving techniques to drivers and riders, as well as road safety practices for pedal cyclists and pedestrians. There will also be a Safe Taxi Driver Award, as part of the Expo, designed to encourage change in the driving styles of taxi drivers. Others (from third left) are: Director of the Road Safety Unit of the Ministry of Transport and Mining, Kenute Hare, and Head of the Traffic and Highway Patrol Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), SSP Calvin Allen.
