Occasion was the Foundation’s scholarship awards ceremony at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston on Tuesday (August 29). Nickardo is one of two exemplary students who are first-time recipients of the Joy Spence Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship, which is valued at $450,000. The scholarship is in recognition of the world’s first female Master Blender. A total of 65 students at the secondary and tertiary levels were awarded scholarships amounting to $11.7 million this year.
