Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller presents a gift to Dr. Svenja Blanke, Head of Division for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Foundation (left) while Christiane Kesper, Director of the Division for International Development Cooperation, FES (centre) looks on. The occasion was a courtesy visit at Jamaica House on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Prime Minister Simpson Miller used the opportunity to express the Government’s appreciation for the support the country received from the Foundation in areas of finance as well as offers of scholarships and training. The Prime Minister also congratulated the Foundation on its 90th Anniversary. FES is a non-profit German foundation committed to the advancement of public policy issues in the spirit of the basic values of social democracy through education, research, and international cooperation.
