Photo Of The Day

Representatives of Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), and agriculture entity, Farm Up Jamaica, on Monday, June 15, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will enable farmers to access up to $5 million in loans, through JNBS. The signing, which took place during the Agro-parks and Agri-business session of the 2015 Jamaica Diaspora Conference, at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, in St. James, will see beneficiaries, who must be registered with the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), being able to access the funds at an interest rate of 15 per cent per annum on the reducing balance. Here, Chief Executive Officer, Farm Up Jamaica, Neil Curtis (right), signs the MoU, while JNBS’ Deputy General Manager for Small Business Loans, Thelma Yong (left), and General Manager, JN Small Business Loans, Gillian Hyde, look on. This year’s sixth Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, which runs from June 13 to 18, is being held under the theme: ‘Jamaica and the Diaspora: Linking for Growth and Prosperity’.
