PM Simpson Miller to attend CARICOM Heads Meeting in Suriname

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller leaves the island today to attend the 23rd Inter-sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community. The two day meeting being held in Paramaribo, Suriname, gets underway tomorrow.

Among the items to be discussed are the organisational review of the CARICOM Secretariat, Governance of Cricket and Sustainable Development including the Climate Change Resilience Implementation Plan.

PM Simpson Miller leads a delegation which includes the Hon. Anthony Hylton, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Ambassador Paul Robotham, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, High Commissioner Sharon Saunders and Mr. David Prendergast.

During the Prime Minister’s absence, the Minister of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change, the Hon Robert Pickersgill will be in charge of the government.
