PM Congratulates Barbados on First World Championship Gold Medal

Prime Minister, the Hon. Bruce Golding has sent the following congratulatory message to the people of Barbados on yesterday’s (August 20) victory by hurdler, Ryan Brathwaite, in Berlin, Germany:
“The people of Jamaica join with Barbados in recognising the achievement of hurdler, Ryan Brathwaite, who won the first IAAF World Championship gold medal for his homeland in Berlin, on August 20.
Brathwaite and two Jamaicans, Maurice Wignall and Dwight Thomas, were the three starters from the Caribbean in the race which the Barbadian took home in fine style. We congratulate him and the people of Barbados on this wonderful achievement”.
