His Royal Highness, Prince Henry of Wales (always known as Prince Harry) prepares to inspect the guard of honour following his arrival at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston Monday March 5, where he was given a 21 gun Royal saluteby the First Battallion, Jamaica Regiment of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), and greeted by Ministers of government, and state officials. The visit by Prince Harry, younger grandson of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, forms part of a series of tours to several countries, in commemorative tribute to the 60th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of her accession to the throne as Queen of England. The visit is being coordinated by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPEM); the Jamaica Information Service (JIS); the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF); and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB).

The visit is in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of his grandmother, The Queen who is celebrating the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne this year. The visit to Jamaica marks the final leg of Prince Harry’s visit to the Caribbean, and will see him participating in a number of activities in Kingston; Falmouth, Trelawny; and Montego Bay, St. James. Observing the proceedings is Chief of Defence Staff Major  General Antony Anderson (right).
