Outreach Activities to Mark Fire Safety Week in Manchester

The Manchester Fire Brigade will be embarking on a number of outreach activities to mark Fire Safety Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2, under the theme: ‘Awareness the key to fire safe communities’.
Fire Prevention Officer, Livingston Morgan, told JIS News that activities will get underway on Sunday with a church service at the May Pen Open Bible Church.He said that, “on Monday we will have the launch of our exhibit at the Mandeville Fire Station at 10:00 a.m. and from there, we move out into the communities of Rose Hill and Plowden and at the end of the day, with the help of the Jamaica Information Service, we will be doing a public meeting at Restore Square.”
“On Tuesday, we go to Comfort Hall, Harry Watch and Maidstone, ending with a public meeting in Mile Gully and by the next day (Wednesday) it is time for Spur Tree, Top Hill, New Forest, Prospect, Down’s and the venue for our public meeting will be Alligator Pond Square,” Mr. Morgan said.
The community meetings will continue for the rest of the week, he informed, with fire officers visiting Devon, Malton, Hallifax, Christiana and Spalding on Thursday and “we end our tour on Friday, with visits to many of the business places in the town of Mandeville.”
The outreach activities will be held in collaboration with the JIS.
