Leader of the Opposition, Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller is extending condolences to the family and colleagues of Woman Corporal Judith Williams, who died in hospital on Friday after being shot by gunmen in Kingston Thursday morning.

 “It is extremely painful when persons like Woman Corporal Judith Williams, who have served their community and country well, have their lives snuffed out in this senseless and brutal way,” Mrs. Simpson Miller said in a statement. “I offer my sincere condolences to her family at colleagues at this time of great grief and loss.”

 Meanwhile, Mrs. Simpson Miller is urging all members of the Security Forces to exercise even greater caution on and off the job in light of the increased threat to members of the Police Force.

 Mrs. Simpson Miller had earlier expressed outrage and sadness at the shooting of the police woman. The Leader of the Opposition has reiterated that the Police must be resolute in their efforts to find the criminals who attacked Woman Corporal Williams.

The Opposition Leader says the worsening murder situation in the country is alarming and requires decisive action and the full cooperation of all Jamaicans.
