The Full Story

The 17th annual Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), which brings together buyers and sellers of indigenous Jamaican goods and services, will be held in the resort town of Ocho Rios, St. Ann from April 29 to May 1 this year.
The theme of this year’s show is: ‘Eden by the Falls’, showcasing Jamaica’s abundant natural beauty, while promoting its unique selling opportunities. One of the Jamaica Tourist Board’s (JTB) largest trade shows, JAPEX is expected to attract some 36 delegates from 25 buyer companies and 128 delegates from 34 supplier companies at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios.
“We are especially excited about this year’s JAPEX taking place in Ocho Rios,” Basil Smith, Director of Tourism told JIS News. He noted that the resort town was experiencing much growth, and this presented a perfect opportunity to highlight its many new developments to an ideal audience.
Utilizing a strategic partnership with the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA), JAPEX offers the ideal forum for leading suppliers of the Jamaican tourism product to meet with travel wholesalers and tour operators from Europe and the Americas.
According to Mr. Smith, JAPEX is a valuable marketing tool which gives all Jamaican properties and attractions a chance to promote their products equally to travel agents, tour operators, wholesalers and members of the travel media.
