Minister Buchanan, who was making his contribution to the 2005/06 Sectoral Debate in Gordon House on June 15, said that the restructuring of the management team of the Rapid Response Unit and its repatriation from Carib Engineering Corporation Limited to the Ministry, had resulted in savings of over $10 million and improvement in the unit’s capacity to achieve its mandate.

Minister Buchanan said work would commence shortly on the Constant Spring and Hope facilities in St. Andrew and the Bogue and White River facilities in St. Ann.
In addition, some 20 wastewater treatment plants and wastewater systems are now being rehabilitated with another eight projects set to commence shortly.
