NWA Advises Motorists to Expect Delays Along The Palisadoes Road In St. Andrew

October 7, 2010

The Full Story

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to expect delays between the Harbour View and Airport round-a-bouts, along the Palisadoes Road in St. Andrew, starting today, Thursday, October 7, 2010. Delays will result from the usage of the corridor by Heavy Duty vehicles transporting material for the Shoreline Protective Works.

The Palisadoes Shoreline Rehabilitation and Protective Project commenced on September 02, 2010. The scope of works includes construction of Revetments on both the harbor and seaside of the corridor, relocation of utilities, construction of a boardwalk and lifting of the roadway. The project is being executed through a US$65 million contract with Chinese firm China Harbour Engineering Company Limited.
These delays are expected to last for the next four weeks until the end of October, 2010.
Motorists are asked to obey posted warning signs and the instruction of flag persons while these activities are in progress.
