NEWS RELEASE # 6 :EMERGENCY ALLOCATION TO MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT

As preparations for Hurricane Ivan continue, each Member of Parliament will be allocated $100,000 for Emergency Preparedness and Response Operations for the hurricane.
Minister of Land and Environment, Honourable Dean Peart made this announcement today. The funds will be allocated from the Social and Economic Support Programme (SESP) funds.
In addition, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is reminding all organizations that employees should be given time off for personal preparations and should be released in order to be safely at home by 6:00-7:00 p.m.
By this time businesses should have completed preparations for the threat of the Hurricane Ivan.
