National Security Says Security Forces Adequately Equipped

Minister of National Security Senator the Honourable Dwight Nelson has emphasized that the security forces are adequately resourced to deal with any form of intimidatory tactics being employed by criminals who are seeking to destabilize the country.
In making reference to this morning’s alleged firebombing of the motorcar of Lawman Lynch, as well as the attempted firebombing of the constituency office of East Rural St. Andrew Member of Parliament Joseph Hibbert, Minister Nelson warned that the security forces would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that law and order are maintained.
“The security forces are alert and equipped to take on any challenges at this time,” Senator Nelson said.He urged law-abiding citizens to put their trust in the security forces to take on any act of criminality that may rear its head at this time.
“I urge you to contact the police if you detect or see any suspicious actions in your communities, to ensure the safety of your families and loved ones,” Senator Nelson said.
At the same, the National Security Minister called on Jamaicans to remain calm.
