NAJASO to Hold Annual Convention in Montego Bay

The United States-based National Association of Jamaican and Supportive Organizations (NAJASO) will hold its 30th annual convention at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay from July 11 to 15.
The four-day convention will discuss a range of topics including trade and investment, education, healthcare and the role of the Diaspora in national development.
Former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson is expected to declare the event open, with presentations from Opposition Leader, Bruce Golding; Minister of Housing Transport, Water and Works, Robert Pickersgill; Consul General to New York, Dr. Basil K. Bryan and President of NAJASO, Catherine Tomlinson.
Highlights of the convention will include a trade exposition; tours of the resort capital of Montego Bay and community projects being funded by the Diaspora; a community development seminar; medical, business and industry workshops; and the organization’s annual meeting. A banquet and awards presentation will be held on July 14.
Delegates attending the convention will be offered the opportunity to meet Jamaicans of diverse professional and socio-political backgrounds as well as to network with exporters, importers and marketers.
NAJASO was established in l977 as a non-profit, non-political, tax-exempt, umbrella organization of Jamaican and supportive community interests based in the United States.
