NAJASO Honours Ambassador Johnson

Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Anthony Johnson, has been honoured for outstanding public service by the National Association of Jamaican and Supportive Organizations (NAJASO).
Outgoing president of NAJASO, Catherine Tomlinson, presented the Ambassador with a plaque at the organisation’s 32nd Annual Banquet held on July 18 at the Hilton Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.
“In commemoration of your many years of untiring dedication, support and overwhelming commitment to public service, NAJASO salutes you,” Mrs. Tomlinson said.
“You have inspired and motivated countless others to a higher calling. We want to honour and applaud you for your service and dedication to public life and to Jamaica,” she added.
In accepting the award, Ambassador Johnson said he was honoured and humbled to receive such recognition. He said that he had been associated with NAJASO since 1986 and was pleased to see that the organisation was still functioning and making outstanding contributions to Jamaica.
Ambassador Johnson represented Prime Minister the Hon. Bruce Golding, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Dr. Ken Baugh at the event.
He delivered the keynote address in which he called on Jamaicans in the United States to play a greater role in opening the ethnic food market to Jamaican food.
