NAJASO Holds Convention July 17 – 20

The 31st Annual Convention of the National Association of Jamaican and Supportive Organizations (NAJASO) will be held from July 17 to 20 at the Hilton Hotel, downtown Cincinnati.
Just over 100 delegates and participants are expected to attend the conference, which will be held under the theme: ‘Celebrating Our Past, Securing Our Future.’
Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, Anthony Johnson, will deliver the keynote address and will declare the convention officially open on July 17 at 7:00 p.m.
On July 18, delegates and participants will take part in a number of workshops on Education and Health. On Saturday, July 19, an investment seminar titled: ‘Business and Future Investment,’ will take place, focusing on NAJASO’s role in the Diaspora. Later in the evening, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Dr. Ronald Robinson, is expected to represent Prime Minister, Bruce Golding at the awards banquet and will deliver the keynote address.
According to President of NAJASO, Cathy Tomlinson, the organization continues to contribute to the development of Jamaica through its numerous programmes and has continued to explore new initiatives that will encourage Jamaicans and non-Jamaicans to invest in the country.
“This year’s convention is important as it will give us the opportunity to review our performance and to look at finding new ways to improve our organization as well as to assist our beloved country,” said Ms. Tomlinson.
NAJASO was founded in 1977 to bring together Jamaican organizations in the Diaspora under one umbrella.
