Mount Liberty All-Age School in Clarendon to be Expanded

A contract valued at $8.5 million was signed on February 11 between the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) and contractors, D. Bisasor & Associates to expand the Mount Liberty All-age School in Clarendon.
Managing Director of JSIF, Scarlette Gillings, who signed for the Fund, emphasized the need to have the work “properly done, on time and within the budget”.The agreement calls for the construction of four new classrooms, an access stairway, and corridor to classrooms.
The classrooms will also be equipped with furniture to include 80 combination chairs and desks for the students and the provision of a desk and chair for each teacher.
In addition, concrete fencing will be erected to the front of the school and chain link fencing to other boundaries of the school and playfield.The expansion work is scheduled to be completed within the next five months.
Since its inception in 1996, the JSIF has approved 63 projects in Clarendon at an overall cost of $256.2 million.
