“As a past student, this institution is dear to my heart and I really want to help make a contribution,” he said.
Mr. Green also noted that books would be distributed to other schools in the area.He urged the students to make use of their educational opportunities, and to take care of the books.
In his remarks, President of the club, Ruel Watkis, explained that the books were donated under Rotary’s theme for the year 2003/04 – ‘To Lend a Hand’.
Expressing thanks for the gift, Mrs. Johnson said the books would be beneficial to the college in several ways, and encouraged the students to “read and read and read, because reading maketh a full man”.Currently, 1,200 students attend the college, which is a multi-disciplinary institution.
