Ministry of Finance Team for Jamaica House Briefing today

According to a release from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr Peter Phillips, is today expected to address the state of the Jamaican economy and plans for the remainder of the financial year.

He will be supported by the Minister with responsibility for the public service, Horace Dalley; the Financial Secretary, Dr Wesley Hughes; the Director General of the Planning Institute of Jamaica, Dr Gladstone Hutchinson; and Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Brian Wynter.  

The briefing will be held in the press room at Jamaica House starting at 1:00p.m.

The Cabinet retreat examined the status of the current International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement and prospects for a new agreement; a preliminary examination of the programmes and spending priorities for the fiscal year beginning April 2012; and growth strategies and job creation.
