Minister of Sports Expresses Regret at Calabar’s Coach Passing

The Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, Hon. Olivia “Babsy’ Grange’ has sent a message expressing her deepest sympathies on the sudden death of sportsman, David ‘Wagga’ Hunt. Hunt collapsed and died this afternoon, at the age of 50.
Miss Grange is off the island attending the 34th General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris, France and the International Conference on Intellectual Property and the Creative Industries put on by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland. In a telephone call, Miss Grange said Mr. Hunt’s passing dealt a hard blow at this time as he was in the heights of the Manning cup season. She said “It is especially a sad occasion for Calabar as he led that school to victories in the Colts, Manning Cup and Calabar’s only victory in the Oliver shield”.
‘His passing is also of significance at this time as the Jamaica Football Federation is about to observe its 45th anniversary. My condolences go out to his wife, child, mother and the rest of his family’, Miss Grange said.
