Minister of Foreign Affairs Pays Official Visit to Cuba

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Hon. Dr. Kenneth Baugh departed the island today (Sunday) for Cuba to begin an official visit.
Minister Baugh will also head Jamaica’s delegation to the 5th Session of the Jamaica/Cuba Intergovernmental Joint Commission meeting which will review a range of cooperation initiatives and identify others to be pursued.
The Commission provides the framework for cooperation progammes between the two countries in areas such as education, health agriculture and sports.
In the wake of the Prime Minister’s visit to Cuba last month, Minister Baugh will hold follow-up discussions with high-ranking Cuban officials on a number of issues raised.
He returns to the island on Wednesday afternoon.
