Maryland All-Age Gets Computers

The Maryland All-age School in western Hanover, has received a donation of some $250,000 in computer equipment and supplies.
They include two lap top computers, one printer, a projector, computer programmes, and other school supplies.
The items were donated by Reverend Dr. Leister Bigby, a past student who is currently residing in Canada. He handed over the supplies at the school, recently. According to Rev. Bigby, the contribution was made possible through donations from members of his congregation within the Grace United Church in Brompton, Canada.
He told JIS News that the Maryland All-age School was very important to him, as it represented the foundation of his schooling, being the first educational institution he attended. Principal of the school, Andria Dinham, in accepting the gift on behalf of the school, assured that the school family would take good care of the equipment, and that it would serve to enhance the teaching and learning process at the school.
“The teachers are anxiously waiting to utilize the equipment to ensure that the students are exposed to technology-driven teaching,” the principal said.
Mayor of Lucea, Councillor Lloyd Hill, who was on hand to welcome the visitors to the parish, encouraged the school fraternity to show their appreciation for the gift by using them to the fullest and maintaining them, so that future students could also benefit.
