The 3rd annual South Manchester sweet potato festival, which was scheduled to be held at new Broughton in South Manchester this Friday, October 28, has been postponed until Friday, November 18.
President of the South Manchester Sweet Potato Growers Association, Dundee Hewitt told JIS News that given the persistent rainfall affecting the parish, it would not be ideal to stage the event at this time.
“We have to be realistic and so our organising committee took the decision that it was best to put it further down in the year,” he said.
Mr. Hewitt said that he was making every effort to contact all the persons who were down to participate in the event, and to let them know about the new date.
