Cabinet has given its approval for an $18.16 million contract to be awarded to Bajad Limited, for the refurbishing of the Lucea fire station in Hanover.
Minister of Information and Development, Senator Colin Campbell, made the announcement yesterday (October 2), at the weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
Senator Campbell informed that the project is aimed at, “improving the conditions of the facility and provide additional accommodation for administrative and recreational activity”.
The scope of work will include the demolition of walls, repairs to the roofs and plumbing fixtures, and the construction of a new two-storey facility for welfare.
In the meantime, two contracts were also approved for the provision of uniforms for the administrative and non-administrative staff at the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).
The $16.2 million contract has been awarded to L. P. Azar Limited.
