Labour Day Concert to be Held In Black River, St. Elizabeth

After a hard day of work, Jamaicans can look forward to the National Labour Day Concert, which will get underway on Labour Day (Monday, May 23) at Independence Park in Black River, St. Elizabeth.
The show, which will begin at 8:00 p.m., will see a line-up of artistes backed by world-renowned musical band, ‘Fab 5’. Headlining the show are Ken Boothe, Richie Stevens, Everton Blender, Terri Linen, Kris Kelly, Innocent, Bescenta, and Gospel singer, Lennox Forbes.
Events and Commemoration Co-ordinator at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), Hopeton Murray told JIS News that the concert was open to the public, and would be a medium, which would provide “good Jamaican” music in a relaxing and safe environment.
“The Labour Day concert is a respectable concert, and we are saying to Jamaica, you have gone out and worked, and have given of your labour freely.come and enjoy the concert with your family, as it is a family occasion,” he said.
Mr. Murray pointed out that patrons could expect a wide array of musical offerings at this year’s concert, aimed at catering to the interests of the different age groups that would make up the audience. In this regard, both children and adults would enjoy music, and other talents, such as speech and dance that will suit their tastes.
