JUTC to Wind Down Operations Earlier than Normal this Evening

September 29, 2010

The Full Story

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) will be winding down its overall commuter operations at approximately 9:30 this evening, based on the existing challenges with flooding and other logistical hindrances associated with Tropical Storm Nicole.
Should the existing pattern of rainfall continue, the service hours will be reduced from the normal 11:00 p.m. winding down time to a 9:30 p.m. curtailment. However, if the weather intensifies significantly, the service is likely to be curtailed at 8:30 p.m.
Commuters across the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region (KMTR) are being advised to take note of the above information in respect of their travel plans for this evening.
The JUTC urges commuter understanding of the need to balance their travelling needs with safety and other logistical considerations for both commuters and our staff members under the existing conditions brought on by the tropical storm.
Weather-permitting, we look forward to the resumption of our service tomorrow on a normal schedule.
