March 22, 2012

The Full Story

The Jamaica Information Service (JIS) will be participating in the University of Technology’s (UTech) annual book fair to be held today in the Caribbean Sculpture Park, at the institution’s Old Hope Road campus.

The event, organised by the Calvin McKain Library, will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will increase awareness of the most current educational resources available in electronic and printed formats, and provide an opportunity for persons to meet and exchange ideas with representatives of local and foreign publishers.

Administrative Assistant in the library, Jacqueline Lawton, told JIS News that a number of publishers, booksellers and publishers representatives will be in attendance, including LMH Publishing, Kingston Bookshop, JIS, John Wiley and Sons, Sangster’s Bookstore, Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), and Book Masters.

The JIS will be showcasing their publications of Jamaican posters, books and flags, which will be available for sale.
