Competition Terms and Conditions(Required) AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES
Participation in the Jamaica Information Service Annual Heritage Poster Competition 2025 constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Judging Panel, which are final and binding. Eligibility is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements.
ENTRY DEADLINE: The ENTRY DEADLINE of the Competition is Friday, October 24, 2025.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
You must be a secondary school level student (11-19 years old)
• You are allowed to submit only one poster.
• You must submit an original, unpublished work.
• You must submit the original, not a copy of the work.
• You should NOT use material (images, graphics etc.) owned by other persons or in which a third party has intellectual property rights.
• You should NOT publish your submitted poster on social media until after the Competition Awards Ceremony.
• Entries must not, at the discretion of the Jamaica Information Service and the Judging Panel be offensive, obscene, indecent, violent, or libellous; contravene or reference any act or acts unlawful under Jamaican law; or contain content otherwise inconsistent with the purpose and ethos of the Heritage Poster Competition.
• You should NOT put any student identification on the front of the submission. It should be printed on the back of each submission, in the lower right-hand corner.
• The work should be presented in size 11 inches x 17 inches in portrait or landscape format.
• The Jamaica Information Service reserves the right to restrict participation by any person at any time for any reason and/or to disqualify any entry at any time for any reason.
• COPYRIGHT: Copyright in all posters submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual authorization to the Jamaica Information Service to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of its publications, websites, programmes and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition without payment to or permission from the author.
• The work must be retained by the JIS for the duration of the competition period.
• Relatives of Jamaica Information Service employees are not eligible to enter.
• The Jamaica Information Service reserves the right to restrict participation by any person at any time for any reason and/or to disqualify any entry at any time for any reason.
DIGITAL POSTERS: Should be submitted as a high-resolution file. Resolution: 150 dpi, Colour Mode: RGB or CMYK, File Formats Accepted: JPEG, EPS, TIF or PDF You must use only the material (images and graphics) in the image pool provided by the JIS on our website.
ILLUSTRATED POSTERS: Entrants may use a variety of media, including watercolour, pen, pencil, charcoal, ink, crayon, chalk markers etc, and should not smear.
