POSTER COMPETITION GUIDELINES AND INSTRUCTIONS

How to submit:
For digital designs, use a cloud storage service such as DropBox, SkyDrive, or Google Drive and emailed to heritageposter@jis.gov.jm.
Illustrations should be mailed or dropped off at the JIS Head Office (58a Half Way Tree Road) OR the Montego Bay Office (National Housing Trust Building, 2nd Floor, 42 b-c Union Street, Montego Bay, St. James).
Rules:
Posters should be 11in. x 17in. (landscape or portrait).
Posters will be judged on the following criteria: interpretation of the topic, originality, neatness, and presentation.
Posters should be submitted by filling out the entry form on the JIS website: www.jis.gov.jm and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions. Please indicate your Grade category.
Images used MUST be from among those provided in the PICTURE RESOURCES. Entrants are allowed to make reasonable adjustments to images and illustrate/create additional images as deemed necessary.
The Jamaica Information Service reserves the right to disqualify any poster that does not meet the requirements specified in these instructions. Students will be penalized for plagiarism (passing off another person’s idea or work as your own).
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) students. Prizes will also be given to the top participants courtesy of sponsorship from corporate Jamaica. Photos and accompanying news release will be posted on www.jis.gov.jm.
Eligibility
Any registered secondary school student in Jamaica (Grades 7-13) is eligible to compete. Relatives of JIS staff members are not eligible to participate in the JIS Heritage Poster Competition.
Additional Information Please ensure that you keep a copy of your poster.
