The Full Story

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) will be hosting a grooming workshop on Tuesday, February 24 at the Golfview Hotel in Mandeville, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Young persons between 17 and 25 years of age from the central region, including the parishes of Manchester, Clarendon and St. Elizabeth, are being targeted.
“The aim of the workshop is to train young people in grooming techniques, which will assist them in preparing for work or further studies,” JCDC Clarendon Parish Manager, Cynthia Markland told JIS News.
She pointed out that topics to be addressed include, ‘Haircare and Grooming’, ‘Posture and Poise’, ‘Building a Basic Wardrobe’, and ‘Wardrobe Co-ordination’, adding that the workshop would be useful to potential participants in the Festival Queen Competition.
Miss Markland explained that a registration fee of $500 per person would be charged, while special group rates would be given for groups with 20 persons or more.
The workshop is being sponsored by SoftSheen and Kotex and there will be presenters from Saint International Modelling Agency and Uzuri International.
