Jamaican National First Woman to Head GCACC

Jamaican national and South Florida banking executive, Lisa Narcisse is the first woman to head the South Florida Greater Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce (GCACC).
Mrs. Narcisse was sworn in as President of the 10-year organization on January 24 at its annual installation banquet held in Pembroke Pines.
Eight elected officers to the GCACC were also installed at the ceremony, officiated by the Mayor of Pembroke Pines, Alex Fekete.
Mrs. Narcisse is a Senior Vice President with BankUnited Financial Corporation where she serves as a consumer services executive in the North Miami branch. She also oversees the branch network and sales functions, including operations and product development, and call centre activity. BankUnited is the largest banking institution headquartered in Florida.
Her banking career, coupled with her community activities, will bring a wealth of experience to the Chamber. She serves on several community organizations, where she is actively involved with the United Way of Greater Miami, Habitat for Humanity as well as the City of Hope, a breast cancer support group.
She is also the current President for the Florida alumni chapter of Immaculate Conception High School.
The Greater Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce is a business networking organization, providing business and professional services in partnership with Caribbean businesses, major corporations and governments.
With a membership of about 100 persons of Caribbean descent and Americans, the group has a roster of annual fundraisers, seminars for business and personal development, health fairs and summer job fairs for college and high school graduates. The organisation has also spearheaded trade missions to Trinidad and Jamaica.
The Chamber was founded in 1994 as the South Florida business group, by Jamaican businessman, Eric Hammond, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hammond & Associates, an engineering firm in South Florida.
