Jamaican Duo Wins World Domino Championship

Jamaicans Arnett Ramsey and Rohan Lynch were crowned the best domino pair for 2007 at the Chivas Regal World Domino Championship held on the weekend in Queens, New York.
The Jamaicans took home the grand prize and the coveted Chivas Regal Challenge trophy after a 3-1 defeat of Floridians Vincent Elliott/Paul Lowe in the best of five sets finale. Barbadians Rodney Inniss and Keith Goddard placed third, while New Yorkers Fitzroy Bisnott/Jeffrey Maragh were fourth.
The 2006 champions Dwayne ‘Sniper’ Henry and Leroy ‘Piggy’ James were eliminated in the round of 16.
Austin Hutchinson, President of World Domino Promotions, Inc., which produced the second annual event, told the gathering at the presentation ceremony that his organization remains committed to promoting the sport of domino as a world class event.
He promised a bigger and better tournament for 2008.More than 100 domino players from six countries and 13 states vied for cash and other incentives at the tournament.
