She told the weekly Jamaica House media briefing on May 22, that the meeting will be held on the same day that the Prime Minister will be returning to the island from Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, where she is attending the Special 50th Anniversary Summit commemorating the establishment of the Organization of African Unity.

“The CARICOM/US meeting will last for two hours and will take the form of a discussion on regional and multi-lateral issues. It will be followed by a working luncheon as well as the presentation of a joint statement by the US Vice President and the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago,” Minister Falconer informed.

She also noted that the CARICOM/US meeting is being convened at the request of the United States to discuss important regional economic, social and political issues.

She said that Minister Bunting will be supported by Jamaica’s High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Sharon Saunders and members of the High Commission staff.
