President of JON-J, Linval James told JIS News that this year’s awardees had left their indelible mark on the Caribbean region and the world.
“Individually and as a group, these awardees signify the progress made during the 20th Century and represent some of the significant contributions made by the Diaspora,” he added.
The evening’s programme will also recognize Jamaica’s 44th anniversary as an independent nation, and Jamaican folklore.
