The Full Story

Jamaica’s senior netball team, ranked second in the world, will take on third ranked England in a three-match tour, starting June 21.
The team will play England at Metro Radio Arena, the Manchester Evening News Arena, and at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena.
Team members will arrive on June 21 and will play a one-off friendly match against the England Under 21 team. They will play a second friendly against Wales in Cardiff on June 23.
The first match against England at the Metro Radio Arena in New Castle is set for June 25; the second will be played at the Manchester Evening News Arena on June 28, while the third and final match is set for June 30 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Gail Mathurin will be the special guest at the Birmingham match.
The team will be hosted by the Flava Netball Club at a reception on Monday, June 27 at Vernon’s Jamaican Restaurant in Manchester.
The English team will be seeking revenge against Jamaica, who knocked them from their world number two ranking at the World Championships.
“The Jamaica test series will be a very challenging one. Choosing a team to face Jamaica has been a difficult task. The team will feature the return of Jamaican-born, Janet Colbourne, who was actually capped by her native country from 1997-1999, before moving to the UK and establishing herself as a key member of England’s defensive line up,” England’s National Coach, Marg Caldow said.
“We are delighted that Janet has accepted our invitation to restart her international career at this stage, to ensure that England can field the best possible team in all the matches,” she added.
