Jamaica National Overseas Showcases Services in Washington

Jamaica National Overseas (JNO) recently staged an exposition in Washington, DC, to showcase its range of services to the Jamaican Diaspora, which includes money transfer services.
Close to 100 Jamaicans residing in Baltimore, Virginia, Maryland and the Washington metropolitan area attended the event, which was dubbed ‘JNO Spotlight’.
Ambassador to the United States, Anthony Johnson, in bringing greetings at the event held at Zanzibar on the Waterfront downtown Washington, commended Jamaica National for being one of Jamaica’s outstanding financial institutions. “Jamaica National has been in existence for over 100 years and has served the needs of Jamaicans creditably, and your institution forms part of Jamaica’s history,” he stated.
Ambassador Johnson also lauded the organization for its foresight in establishing an international arm to assists the needs of Jamaicans overseas.
JN Money Transfer General Manager, Charles Spence, stated that the staging of ‘JNO Spotlight’ was geared at educating the Jamaican community on the wide range of services that are being offered. These include money transfer, payment of bills in Jamaica, and other financial services.
He informed that similar events were held in New Jersey, Atlanta, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale and the response from the attendees was very positive. “It is now clear that members in the Diaspora are educated on the wide range of services we offer,” he stated.
JNO Sales Support Manager, Maxine Henry and JN Representative from Toronto, Allison Martin, outlined the various services offered to the large audience in attendance.
The ‘JNO Spotlight’ in Washington was co-sponsored by the Embassy of Jamaica and Air Jamaica.
Among those who attended were: Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Jamaica, Sharon Miller; President Baltimore Association of Jamaica, Rick Nugent; Vice President National Association of Jamaica and Supportive Organizations (NAJSO), Jennifer Asher; and Air Jamaica Manager Midwest, Claire Robinson.
