The following are excerpts taken from a presentation made by Minister of Energy and Mining Hon. James Robertson at the 5th Meeting of the Ministerial Council of Energy Ministers of PetroCaribe Member States in St. Kitts-Nevis on June 11, 2009.
The cooperation provided by Venezuela has not only contributed to alleviate the weight of an indispensable resource such as energy, but it has also created the foundation for a closer relationship between the nationals of both countries.
In recent times, a number of Venezuelan and Jamaican construction enterprises have collaborated to build projects in Jamaica that have had and will have a significant impact on the lives of our people and their standard of living. These ventures include the restoration of the Montego Bay Civic Centre, the Port Maria Civic Centre, the Montego Bay Sports Complex and the upgrade of the National Stadium.
