PHOTO COMPETITION GUIDELINES AND INSTRUCTIONS
Deadline: OCTOBER 24, 2025
How to submit:
Photos should be submitted by filling out the entry form on the JIS website: www.jis.gov.jm and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions. A cloud storage link should be included for the photo in the space provided. Also, please indicate the name of your institution, the faculty of study, and/or the programme you are pursuing.
Rules:
- Photos should be high resolution in quality (landscape or portrait); size 8×10.
- Photos will be judged on the following criteria:
- Interpretation of the topic
- Originality
- Composition
- Technicality
- and Impact.
The Jamaica Information Service (JIS) reserves the right to disqualify any photo that does not meet the requirements specified in these instructions. Students will be penalized for Plagiarism (passing off another person’s idea or work as your own).
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) students courtesy of sponsorship from corporate Jamaica. Photos and accompanying news release will be posted on www.jis.gov.jm.
Eligibility
Any registered tertiary level student in an accredited Jamaican institution is eligible to compete. Relatives of JIS staff members are not eligible to participate in the JIS Heritage Photo Competition.
Additional Information
Please ensure that you keep a copy of your photo.
