Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Pearnel Charles, has called on Guidance Counsellors to assist students with making better career choices, as too many are sitting examinations in subjects areas already overrun with job seekers, or ones which are not relevant in the local and global world of work.
Mr. Charles said that too many students are being encouraged to simply pursue subjects in which they can achieve a passing grade, and they often end up with good grades in areas which would not allow them to fulfill their full potential or be competitive.
