The Princess Royal  KG KT GCVO GCStJ QSO GCL, the second child and only daughter of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, was born at Clarence House, London, on 15 August 1950, when her mother was Princess Elizabeth, heir presumptive to the throne. She was baptised Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise at Buckingham Palace on 21 October 1950.

She received the title Princess Royal from The Queen in June 1987; she was previously known as Princess Anne. Her Royal Highness is the seventh holder of the title. She is styled Her Royal Highness Princess Anne of Edinburgh.

Princess Anne started her education in Buckingham Palace where The Queen had moved with her family shortly after her accession.

The Princess, who after leaving school began to undertake public engagements alone when she was eighteen, is known for her charitable work, being the patron of over 200 organisations; she carries out about 500 royal engagements and public appearances per year.

Princess Anne is also known for her equestrian talents; winning two silver medals (1975) and one gold medal (1971) at the European Eventing Championships, she is the first member of the British Royal Family to compete in the Olympic Games. The Princess is also a British representative in the International Olympic Committee, and was a member of the London organising committee for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, Jamaica will host the closing ceremony of the Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders Dialogue (CCELD), between September 30 and October 4, 2015.

Princess Royal will be present in the island from September 30 to October 2, 2015.

HRH has visited Jamaica twice in the past. Her first visit was in February 2005 to celebrate 50 years of the Princess Margaret Hospital, named after her aunt Princess Margaret.  Princess Royal then made an official visit to Jamaica in June 2011.

Princess Royal visits Mico

Princess Anne Tours Up Park Camp

Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal, Princess Anne, is given a history of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) by Curator of the Military Museum, Stacey Duhaney (right), while Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Antony Anderson, looks on.
